[QBD] "Invalid Reference to Consulting Income"

[QBD] "Invalid Reference to Consulting Income"

This error occurs when the default chart of accounts for Zoho products syncing to your QuickBooks items list is not changed.

When you log into your ZBrains dashboard for the first time and take a look at your Products mapping, you'll see a chart of accounts assigned to each item type. (Inventory-type items will be shown by default.)  The values here will not correspond to anything real in your system; they're just placeholders.  The reason they exist is that as you haven't yet run your QuickBooks Web Connector with the ZBrains app inside it, the app hasn't gathered the metadata from QuickBooks that correspond to your chart of accounts.  This is normal.

To fix this, follow these steps:

1. Run your Web Connector once before creating or modifying any records.  (If you have already run your Web Connector with the ZBrains app once, skip to step 2.  If you need help uploading the QWC file to the Web Connector, please see this article.)
2. Navigate to Settings>>Item Account Settings.
3. The chart of accounts for inventory-type items will be shown by default.  Please choose the proper associated account from each of the three drop-down menus provided, then click Submit.  If you do not see any accounts in your drop-down menu, please run the Web Connector once more, refresh the web browser window, then try again.  (If you still don't see any accounts listed, please contact us.)
4. Repeat this action for all applicable item types by clicking through the drop-down menu on the upper right part of the page.

Once you have selected your chart of accounts for all item types, you'll see that those have populated to your items mapping page automatically.  After running the Web Connector again, this error should disappear.

Note: Make sure to update any items you'd like synced after making these settings changes, as the integration won't catch them unless they have been modified.  Updating can be as simple as adding an extra character to any insignificant mapped field (for example, a notes field), or changing a phone number.
